Overview: Care Assistants provide basic, uncomplicated patient care and assist with unit/department operations under the supervision of registered nurses.
Assignment of job responsibilities are as delegated by registered nurses assigned to supervise the care assistant and in accordance with this job description.

Responsibilities: Provides supportive patient care.
Assists in the maintenance of a safe environment and promotes efficient and safe operations.
Unit Secretary/clerical functions.
Attends education programs, unit meetings and assigned committees.
Shares responsibility for teaching and orientation of new personnel (within own skills) Qualifications: HS diploma or equivalent 1-2 years of experience working with children/families preferred CNA License If not a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) one of the following criteria must be met: Enrolled in a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing education program and have successfully completed the fundamentals in nursing course.
Within the past three (3) years, was a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing licensure candidate who failed to pass the state licensure examination in any state.
Completed an UAP (unlicensed assistive personnel) program in Missouri or another State (that meets current regulatory requirements) within the past three (3) years.
Completed a professional (BSN/AD) or practical (LPN) nursing program outside the United States and is awaiting the licensure examination in this country.
Worked as a nurse assistant, emergency medical technician (EMT), or surgical technician within the past three (3) years.
BLS certification Required Upon Hire Some units may require bilingual skills Starting Pay: Our pay ranges are market competitive.
The pay range for this job begins at $17.
00/hr, but your offer will be determined based on your education and experience.
Remote Work/Work from Home: This position is not eligible work remotely, which means that the person hired will be required to work onsite at one of our Children’s Mercy locations and may not work from home.
