Deli Clerk Overview
Provides fast, friendly, helpful and efficient service to all Price Chopper customers.
Responsible for preparing, slicing, cutting and wrapping all deli products for consumption to promote optimal opportunity for sales.
Maintains a clean and sanitized work station in accordance with corporate and state sanitation regulations.
Responsibilities
Responsible for consistently working to provide fast, friendly, helpful and efficient customer service at all times.
Responsible for smiling, making eye contact and thanking each customer upon fulfilling their request.
Responsible for projecting oneself in a professional manner in accordance with our dress code.
Responsible for fast, friendly and helpful sampling and suggestive selling.
End each customer's transaction with a "Thank You".
Responsible for maintaining a neat, clean, safe and organized workstation at all times, according to company standards.
Responsible for proper handling, merchandising and cooking of all deli products according to company standards.
Responsible for preparing in-store made prepared food programs.
Responsible for performing sanitation duties within the department in accordance with corporate and state regulations.
(ie: mopping, sweeping, emptying garbage, cleaning production equipment, washing dishes, and so on)
Responsible for controlling shrinkage through adherence to related policies and procedures.
Responsible for maintaining cold case logs, hot food logs and cooling logs consistent with store policy.
Responsible for maintaining controls and security in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Responsible for communicating new policies or promotional programs to our customers.
Responsible for knowing the store layout and assisting customers in finding items.
Responsible for performing other related duties as assigned by management and adhering to all company policies and procedures.
Responsible for efficiently dealing with customer complaints in a professional manner.
Other duties may be assigned.
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Must be reliable.
Must have a food handling permit.
Preferred Qualifications
Strong communication skills.
Ability to read and write at the 8th grade level.
Previous deli work experience
Be available for night and weekend shifts.
Physical Requirements
Frequent bending, reaching, standing and walking.
Occasional exposure to cool temperatures.
Repetitive use of hands, wrists, arms and shoulders.
Occasionaly carry and lift from floor to waist of up to 50 pounds.
Occasionaly lift from floor to over head of up to 20 pounds.
Occasionally able to push and pull up to 20 pounds.
Ability to work in a store environment.
