Salary Range: $7,268-$10,902/month

Responsibilities
Serves as lead prosecutor in the Domestic Violence/Child Abuse Program of the City Prosecutor's Office responsible for representing the City of KCMO.
Prosecutes all domestic violence and child abuse ordinance violations in the Municipal Court of the City.
Prepares motions, conducts and responds to discovery, writes and argues briefs and works with and prepares witnesses, victims and officers.
Handles de novo DV bench and/or jury trials, and, if necessary, argues appeals to the Court of Appeals.
Manages DV staff of three prosecutors and four paralegals/administrative officers.
Manages the VOCA and VAWA grants.
Prosecutes the most serious DV offenders on the compliance docket and staffs the domestic violence probation dockets.
Provides referrals to social service agencies and participates in collaborative efforts and meetings with other criminal justice agencies and social services partners.
Assists victims with T & U visa applications.
Qualifications
REQUIRES graduation from an accredited school of law and 4 years professional experience in legal work, including 1 year experience in municipal legal work at the level of Assistant City Attorney.
Must be admitted to the Missouri Bar Association and possess the right to practice in all courts in the State of Missouri.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions.
Some positions require a post offer drug screen and/or physical.
If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
