Job Duties: This CSO III position is the top supervisory and administrative position in the Adult Court Services Department consisting of 16 CSO’s and 2 Support Staff.
This Department handles adult probation supervision, adult PSI preparations, LSCMI/WRNA assessments and Drug Diversion.
Responsibilities include supervising and evaluating staff members; preparing budget requests to Chief CSO; gathering statistics; reviewing and revising department policies and procedures; maintaining KCJIS/REJIS capabilities, certifications, and equipment; administrating personnel policies as set out in the personnel rules of the Kansas Court system, hiring new staff, legislative matters; and responding to other duties and requests from the Chief CSO.
Other duties may include assisting with education/training efforts as requested, attending community, regional and State meetings, perform caseload audits, and coordinate with other section supervisors.
This position functions independently with assistance provided through “team meetings”, with review of policy decisions with individual consultations with the Chief Court Services Officer.
These duties are performed under the direction of the Chief Court Services Officer, the Court Administrator, and the Chief Judge.
This position is responsible to the Chief Court Services Officer.
Required Education and Experience:
Graduation from a four-year accredited college with major course work in a related field.
Currently working as a Kansas Court Services Officer.
Available transportation that is functional, safe, and properly insured.
Copy of college transcript(s) will be required from all applicants if not already on file.
Must pass criminal history background check.
Must be certified or able to obtain certification to conduct criminal records checks through KCJIS/ALERT/FBI/KBI.
