To that end, the Leadership Academy aims to promote and expand diversity and develop the "next generation" of lawyers who, over time, will transition to becoming leaders of the firm, key client relationship partners, primary client trust advisors, and lead lawyers in defending our clients.
Goals
To enhance long-term retention, advancement, and promotion of lawyers by providing them the access and tools to become a successful partner at Shook
To develop future leaders at Shook and in the legal community
To develop the next generation of lead lawyers defending our clients
To secure significant, trial, appellate, class action, and other opportunities
To advance speaking, writing, and other brand development opportunities
To provide a range of programming, workshops, and other activities
To foster relationships with clients and other lawyers through presentations, social activities, secondments, and other avenues

All Fellows are paired with sponsors ("Champions") composed of leaders at Shook, key client relationship partners, significant business developers, marquee trial, appellate, and class action lawyers, alumni, friends, and clients of Shook who are dedicated to diversity and inclusion and improving the legal profession by providing attorneys with access to meaningful business and professional development.
Requirements: Class of 10 attorneys (selected via the application process) who meet the following criteria: Are within four years of partnership consideration Share in Shook's commitment to fostering and increasing diversity and inclusion in the legal profession Have high potential and interest Are interested in enhancing their practice and brand with a commitment to fulfilling their potential Commit to the requirement of attending and participating in a minimum of 85% of the Academy's meetings and events
