Seeking an Assistant General Manager for the TownePlace Suites in Overland Park, KS.
A high emphasis is placed on Guest Satisfaction/Associate Satisfaction/Retention.

Oversee the efficient operation of the hotel by supervising all operating departments in the absence of the General Manager and/or the Manager on Duty.
Assist the General Manager by continually focusing on achieving hotel profitability through revenue generation cost control, guest satisfaction and development of associates.
Exempt associates are expected to work as much of each workday as is necessary to complete their job responsibilities.

Education & Experience: High School diploma or equivalent required.
Two to three years of progressive experience in housekeeping.
At least 4 years of progressive experience in a hotel or a related field; or a 2-year college degree and 2 or more years of related experience; or a 4-year college degree and at least 1 year of related experience.
Candidates with Marriott and Sales experience in a large room inventory, and in a managerial position for a minimum of 2 years, is preferred.
Physical requirements: Flexible and long hours sometimes required.
Medium work - Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects.
Ability to stand during entire shift.
General Requirements: Must be able to effectively communicate both verbally and written, with all level of employees and guests in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service oriented manner.
Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
Must be able to multitask and prioritize departmental functions to meet deadlines.
Approach all encounters with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous and service-oriented manner.
Attend all hotel required meetings and trainings.
Maintain regular attendance in compliance with BC Lynd Standards, as required by scheduling, which will vary according to the needs of the hotel.
Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, which includes wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
Comply with BC Lynd Standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient hotel operations.
Maximize efforts towards productivity, identify problem areas and assist in implementing solutions.
Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying and solving problems as necessary.
Must be able to understand and apply complex information, data, etc.
from various sources to meet appropriate objectives.
Must be able to cross-train in other hotel related areas.
Must be able to maintain confidentiality of information.
Must be able to show initiative, including anticipating guest or operational needs.
Perform other duties as requested by management.
Maintain a warm and friendly demeanor at all times.
Fundamental Requirements: Should be analytical in the understanding of the marketplace.
Understand the key metrics as it relates to performance verses the competition using tools such as the STAR report, Profit and Loss Statements, etc.
Know gaps in performance and be able to develop and articulate (written and verbal) the plan(s) to correct.
Able to successfully work with and interact with the General Manager, Corporate Leadership, support personnel, Brand representatives, community leaders, guest, and associates.

Comprehends budgets, operating statements and payroll progress reports as needed to assist in the financial management of department.
Responds to and handles guest problems and complaints.
Strives to improve service performance.
Empowers employees to provide excellent customer service.
Emphasizes guest satisfaction during all departmental meetings and focuses on continuous improvement.
Participates as needed in the investigation of employee accidents.
Supervise staffing levels to ensure that guest service, operational needs, and financial objectives are met.
Ensures employees understand expectations and parameters.
Ensures property policies are administered fairly and consistently, disciplinary procedures and documentation are completed according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs).
Observes service behaviors of employees and provides feedback to individuals.
Uses all available resources of the job training tools to train new room attendants and provide follow up training as necessary.
Participates in the employee performance appraisal process, providing feedback as needed.
Actively participates in the interviewing and hiring of employee team members with the appropriate skills.
Supports a departmental orientation program for employees to receive the appropriate new hire training to successfully perform their job.
Participates in employee progressive discipline procedures.
