Working under the supervision of the Director of Facility Management, the Facilities Supervisor will assist and have an active role in the oversight of Rockhurst High School’s maintenance services.
Primary responsibilities will include planning, evaluation, developing, implementing, and maintaining services in compliance with established guidelines, codes, and regulations; and supervising and directing assigned staff.
· Must have general knowledge regarding equipment and tools used in maintaining building and grounds including, carpentry, plumbing, electricity, and HVAC systems.
Must be mechanically inclined and capable of performing a variety of maintenance duties.
Experience:
· Must possess good physical health and be able to perform the above duties with minimum of help.
Must be able to consistently stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl and climb when performing certain tasks.
· Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, handle and manipulate tools and equipment, and to complete tasks while using a ladder.
· Thorough knowledge of the occupation hazards and corresponding safety precautions necessary for the safe performance of assigned duties.
Ability to effectively train others in those essential safety standards.
· Ability to follow oral and written instructions as well as communicate effectively in both oral and written form.
· Knowledge and ability to use computers and related technology efficiently.
Ability to read construction drawings and blueprints.
· Ability to work with young men of high school age.
· Ability to establish and maintain the necessary skills that are required to perform multiple, technical tasks with a need to periodically upgrade skills in order to meet changing job conditions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
· High school diploma with applicable job-related training
· Minimum of five years of progressive experience in a maintenance field.
· Supervisory experience is preferred.
· Previous employment with an educational or hospital institution a plus.
