Independence Monitoring Senior Manager

We are seeking professionals who want to build on existing experience - preferably in audit, accounting, or independence compliance.
You will use your knowledge to add value to Deloitte's quality assurance and risk-management practice; broaden and deepen your knowledge of independence rules; expand your network; and develop relationships with a variety of Deloitte professionals, including Lead Client Service Partners and other client service professionals.
As a Senior Manager in Independence Monitoring, you'll be responsible for a number of activities, including performing inspections of selected PCAOB and AICPA audit engagements for compliance with certain firm policies, SEC, PCAOB and AICPA rules as well as having the opportunity to continue to educate our audit teams on the application of certain regulatory rules and policies and provide leading practices for audit working paper documentation.
You'll also be responsible for mentoring staff, providing them with developmental feedback, and career guidance.
Work you'll do As an Independence Monitoring Senior Manager, you'll use your analytical, research and investigative skills to: Lead engagement independence inspections and business relationship monitoring.
Identify leading practices, areas for improvement, and causal factors, as applicable.
Analyze the results of the inspection procedures applied to specific engagements and business relationships and report results.
Work with engagement and finance teams to solve problems and perform remediation.
Provide consultation and insights to engagement team leadership as to how to fully comply with independence and firm policy requirements and enhance engagement teams' processes for efficiency and compliance.
Lead project work and collaborate with appropriate risk and/or functional groups to enhance processes as well as policies, guides, tools, and training to support engagement teams and finance/procurement groups.
Develop overall monitoring plan for engagement independence inspections and business relationship monitoring, as applicable, including time budgeting, scheduling, execution, and oversight of various monitoring procedures and project work.
Become a subject-matter expert in SEC independence regulations, PCAOB rules and the Deloitte US firms' Independence policies as well as evaluate permissibility of services provided to our clients through our monitoring processes.
Stay current with emerging issues impacting independence regulation and analyze the impact of matters impacting firm processes, policies, and procedures.
Develop, train, assign workloads, and supervise managers, and seniors, while motivating and providing them with career coaching and guidance.
Initiate discussions, meetings, and conference calls necessary to resolve independence matters while fostering teaming relationships (inside and outside of Independence organization) with a strong emphasis on providing education and leading practices to continue to promote compliance.
Identify and analyze causal factors and develop ideas for improvement including communications with Partners/Managing Directors and others within ICN (e.
g.
, partner with the Professional and Regulatory Matters team).
Independence & Conflicts Network The Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) performs a critical consultative, quality-assurance and risk-management function for the Deloitte US Firms, helping the organization remain unbiased and free from conflicts-of-interest, in fact and appearance, when providing services to attest/audit clients.
Independence requirements are defined by specific sets of policies, external rules and regulations, and maintaining both the independence of the Deloitte US Firms and personal independence is essential to the business and reputation of Deloitte.
The team The Independence Monitoring Group (IMG) within the Independence & Conflicts Network (ICN) performs a critical quality assurance and risk management function for the Deloitte US Firms by monitoring compliance with applicable regulatory rules issued by the SEC, PCAOB and AICPA, and Deloitte Independence policies.
Monitoring compliance with regulatory rules and Deloitte independence policies is essential to the firm's business and reputation.
Qualifications Required: BA / BS in Accounting, Finance or Business Administration 8+ years of related experience in professional services 3+ years of experience of managing, including supervising staff and monitoring projects.
Typically requires 8 to 10 years of directly related experience, including people/process management experience as well as the management of individual contributors, project teams and other management.
Demonstrated experience in auditing financial statements or business processes and/or identifying, documenting, and testing of controls Strong written and oral communication skills; proficient with spreadsheet, word processing, and presentation packages, preferably Microsoft Office Self - starter with demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with attention to detail and closure Strong interpretive skills and analytical abilities; ability to interpret and apply relevant policy, risk concepts, professional standards and government regulations, as applicable, and perform causal factor analyses when findings are identified Ability to operate independently and thrive in a fast paced, highly flexible organization with a high need for confidentiality Experience and ability to work with high level leadership for problem resolution, strategy, and process decision making.

The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational needs.
The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
At Deloitte, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $113,100 to $232,300 You may also be eligible to participate in a discretionary annual incentive program, subject to the rules governing the program, whereby an award, if any, depends on various factors, including, without limitation, individual and organizational performance.
