Asset Lifecycle Management Business: Iron Mountain’s Asset Lifecycle Management (ALM) business is a circular economy focused business line caring for some of Iron Mountain’s largest customers— hyperscale data center firms.
The ALM business provides end-to-end software and services spanning the deployment, management, decommissioning, dispositioning, and value capturing of technology assets for corporate data centers and end user devices.
These include hard drives, servers, laptops, tablets, and network devices that contain customer or organizational data that needs utmost safeguarding when reaching their end of useful life.
In the process, ALM takes IT assets to sanitize, clean, and remove the data and recycle or repurpose in a sustainable and environmentally sound way.
Job Summary: As part of the Operations (Lead & Technician) Internship Program program, you will receive on the job training and rotate to at least two different roles during the Spring Semester program.
During the internship, you will be able to complete real world work along with multiple internal Iron Mountain teams while contributing to our digital growth aspirations.
You will also experience: Competitive hourly rate Structure Development including: On the Job Training Professional Skills Business Acumen Technical Experience Consistent Feedback and Evaluation Job Responsibilities: As a Operations (Lead & Technician) Internship participant, you will be able to rotate through at least two different roles within our “IT Hardware Facility” where you will apply your Server, Networking, PC, Laptop, and Data bearing Device (DBD) testing and troubleshooting skills and experience to execute the ALM computer hardware testing, sanitization and inventory processes.
This activity is located in the Iron Mountain, Asset Lifecycle Management-Olathe, KS site, which includes the receiving, processing, and resale of servers and harvested components from rack systems and other corporate IT assets.
This position reports to one of the Operations Managers responsible for these activities.
Over the time of the internship you will be working in each of these areas: Data Center Rack Processing IT Asset Recycling Networking Gear and Hard Drive/SSD processing Custom position developed by/for the intern Job Responsibilities and Success Factors Coordinate and prioritize physical and systematic movement of hardware through receiving, testing, grading, inventory, and fulfillment activities.
Develop and Implement new process and procedures Conduct wiping, test, andrefurbish operations for PCs, laptops, tablets, and cellphones.
Troubleshoot problems related to product hardware or software failures, test infrastructure, and/or set-up issues.
Track and report test yields and problem issues Education Qualifications: Currently pursuing an Associates degree Must be enrolled in a local (Kansas City, KS) community college in fall semester Graduation date of May 2024 Pursuing a discipline in Business, Information Systems, or Technology or strong desire to understand technology hardware Requirements: Participation in the internship program requires that you are located and able to work at our Olathe, Kansas facility Must be authorized to work in the United States without restriction This is a 20-40 hours per week program (Monday-Friday), that runs from January 8th-May 17th (Eligible Working Hours are 7am-4pm) Create a consistent work week schedule during semester Professional Skill Qualifications/Preferred: Willingness to learn and grow within an organization Great attention to detail Ability to demonstrate strong communication skills, initiative, and intellectual curiosity Ability to work independently and as a collaborative team member Ability to learn and comply with company policies and procedures Strong analytical and problem solving skills Category: Other Designations Iron Mountain is a global leader in storage and information management services trusted by more than 225,000 organizations in 60 countries.
