We offer a complete benefits package and opportunities for your continued growth and development! Summary: The Director of Environmental Affairs directs and manages all environmental and waste-derived fuels (WDF) compliance activities at the company's cement manufacturing plants and terminals.
This position maintains compliance with all environmental laws, regulations, rules, and permits.
The position advises and assists in the development of corporate environmental policies and practices and acquires new and maintains existing environmental and WDF permits and modifications to existing permits.
What you’ll be contributing: Promote and follow all plant safety guidelines.
Additional duties as assigned by supervisor.
Manages the Company’s CMS and EMS processes by directing the corporate staff and providing oversight to plant staff to ensure 100% compliance with all relevant environmental and WDF laws, regulations, rules, and permits.
Achieves “zero defects” in EHS and WDF compliance at all locations.
Assists in the development of corporate environmental and WDF policies and practices and recommends new or revised policies and practices.
Manages the implementation of approved policies and practices.
Include policies and practices which will offer the company a competitive advantage.
Coordinate the development of core training processes/programs for plant personnel related to environmental compliance Directs the permitting process to acquire or assist in acquiring new and maintaining existing environmental and WDF permits and modifications to existing permits.
Manages and coordinates environmental and WDF activities of the company’s cement manufacturing plants and terminals.
Works through industry associations and government affairs to negotiate and lobby for fair and reasonable regulations on a state and federal level.
Assists in developing recommendations, formulating and supporting community relations, and political activities related to the company’s environmental and WDF activities.
Works with the general council and assists with the coordination of all litigation associated with environmental and WDF activities.
Manages and coordinates environmental and WDF audit and training activities.
Collaborate with Manufacturing & Technical Services (MTS) colleagues to provide continuous improvement, best practice sharing, and efficiency improvement at plant and terminal operations.
To succeed in this position, you will need: Ability to read, write, and understand warning labels, instructions, signs, etc.
Minimum 4 Year / Bachelors Degree Environmental studies, engineering, natural sciences, law, or related field.
Preferred Graduate Degree in Environmental studies, engineering, natural sciences, law, or related field.
Minimum 10 Years of Experience in Environmental management, including industrial experience.
Multidisciplinary environmental experience in air, water, and waste management of hazardous waste-derived fuels.
Experience in a regulated environment.
