The Manager Clinical Nutrition is part of the Global Professional and Veterinary Affairs team (GPVA), who are responsible for our strategy with veterinary customers that will result in endorsement for and active recommendation of Hill’s therapeutic and wellness products.
This role reports to the Senior Director of Professional and Academic Affairs and supports the execution of strategies that position Hill’s as the most valuable partner, providing scientific evidence-based advancements in the field of nutrition, and demonstrating our commitment to transforming the lives of people and their pets.
This role has a primary focus on supporting core therapeutic and wellness products to internal and external professional audiences and help implement global innovative professional scientific engagement and education elevating Hill's scientific leadership, resulting in veterinary endorsement and active recommendation of Hill's products.
This function will work cross-functionally to integrate these learnings and tools into the commercial approach to accomplish the yearly Hill’s professional strategic priorities and objectives.
The function is located in HQ Overland Park.
What You Will Do: • Provide professional and veterinary clinical nutrition insights to GGIT and S&T to support core therapeutic and wellness product stay-in business ideation under leadership of the Senior Director of Prof Veterinary and Academic Affairs.
• Support the GGIT providing scientific & clinical nutrition expertise during the core product and wellness claims substantiation, bundle development and approval processes.
• Support the update of materials to strengthen global product upgrades to match specific commercial needs of the regions and train the trainers of relevant PVA, marketing and CD teams accordingly.
• Support the analysis and develop veterinary and clinical nutrition perspective on key competitors’ claims and products to address competitive pressure and develop a cross-functional action plans • Support the Scientific Center of Excellence under leadership of the Strategic Scientific Comms Manager • Emphasize the product superiority, the Hill’s nutritional philosophy, and support the scientific communications of our products.
• Support the Feline Center of Excellence with nutritional recommendations and guidance.
• Execute and support comprehensive communication plans to support professional global core therapeutic and wellness products and drive endorsement and recommendation of these Hill’s products.
• Support the creation of appropriate materials & tools and help train global teams for core therapeutic and wellness products.
• Create and deliver scientific presentations that educate the veterinary healthcare team about the science and support behind Hill’s products.
• Communicate state of the art scientific developments for Hill’s at on-site or virtual scientific meetings and veterinary conferences and events.
• Execute the global influencers strategy for active engagement with experts to create advocacy and drive 3rd party endorsement, including using the KTL database.
• Build and maintain relationships with specific global key thought leaders and specialists and share current scientific information that supports recommendation and endorsement of certain Hill’s products.
• Provide the most up-to-date scientific and clinical nutrition information in support of media crises and sensitive cases, including facilitating the required approval process in fast turnaround.
• Contribute in identifying global trends in the veterinary profession and issues related to nutrition and report back to business to influence further strategic planning.
• Inform global markets about relevant new scientific publications related to clinical nutrition in our key disease categories providing direction on impact on our business.
• Become one of the faces of Hill’s with global specialists.
• Collaborate with GGIT and Science and Technology team to provide them feedback from key influencers.
• Collaborate with the global digital team to improve our digital professional footprint and data (-analytic) decision-making.
Required Qualifications: Doctorate DVM (or equivalent degree) with a minimum of 4-6 years in general veterinary practice or a minimum of 2 years in residency training and practice as a veterinary specialist Doctorate Board qualification eligibility –preferably in (ACVIM-) small animal clinical nutrition; alternatively in small animal related topics of interest for Hill’s Preferred Qualifications: Previous experience in animal health industry or clinical practice, (professional) digital and data experience Proficiency in another major language is a plus Compensation and Benefits Salary Range $115,200.
00 - $163,000.
00 USD Pay is based on multiple non-discriminatory, individualized factors including but not limited to experience, job-related knowledge and education, skills and office/market location.
In addition to base salary, salaried employees are eligible for annual discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing and, for Executive-level (salary grade 16 and above) roles only, long-term incentives in the form of Restricted Stock Units and/or Stock Options.
Subject to the terms and conditions of the applicable benefits plans then in effect, all salaried employees are also eligible for a competitive benefits package which includes: Insurance: Employees (and their eligible dependents) are eligible to participate in Company-sponsored Medical, Dental, Vision, Basic Life Insurance, Accidental Death & Dismemberment and Disability insurance plans.
