Vintage 1930's Washburn 00 Guitar - $800 (Briarcliff Area)

For auction is a vintage 1930's Washburn 00 sized guitar that plays fine but would be made better with some attention from a luthier.
The body size is an 00.
The upper bout measures 10" across, the lower bout measures 14 3/16" wide.
At the neck the depth is 3 5/16ths and at the lower bout the depth is 4".
The scale length from the nut to the 12th fret is 12 1/4".
The overall length of the guitar is 38 1/2".
I purchased this from an old hippie who had been playing it for years.
Sometime in the past work was done by a luthier to make it playable.
The inlaid headstock and tuners are original, the neck is in good shape as well but a piece of the bound ivoroid has been patched on the base side of the neck, and is missing from the end of the fingerboard.
At the treble side at the waist is a break in the ivoroid.
The nut appears to be original bone.
The pick guard is an addition as are the bridge, pins and the compensated saddle.
The original spruce top shows wear and the pickguard was added as the soundboard was showing a lot of play wear.
The sides are made of Brazilian Rosewood which shows various cracks, though they appear to have been repaired internally with glue and a fabric tape.
The original Brazilian back is gone and has been replaced with mahogany.
Why this was done was likely for cost savings.
It is ashamed the work done was not done to modern standards.
In today's world with the appreciation for fine old guitars , the back would have likely been replaced with Brazilian.

This is a players guitar and nears 100 years of age.
A skilled luthier might be able to bring this old guitar up a few notches from where it is.
It is playable and the action is very low.
An old case will be provided to protect the guitar for shipping purposes.
Although playable, i am selling this for restoration.
