Up for sale today is a gently used Craftsman 18 scroll saw.
It is cast iron and built like a tank.
It was made by King
Seeley for Sears in the 50's.
The only issue was a bit of slack in the table trunions.
Made a new part and it is again solid.
I cleaned the grime and sawdust off and checked the bearing, oil level and operation.
Nothing broken here.
It has been well treated and includes a belt and a Delco 1/3 hp AC motor and pulley along with a pack of blades.
I have found in using scroll saws, even new ones, that having upper and lower blade guides like a bandsaw are extremely helpful.
The trend today is eliminate them but for accurate sawing, they are a must.
This old girl has them both!! You can see the uppers in the picture along with the hold down.
A better way to go.

Other than being old fashioned in the blade mounts, these saws have been made and used since the 50's Stood the test of time for Sears.
A very good way to get into scroll saw work on a shoe string.
Send a text and stop by and see this grand old workhorse.
