Starcon is seeking a journeyman Insulator with previous industrial/chemical/petrol-chemical experience for North Kansas City, MO.
*Qualifications:*
· Four or more years’ experience.
· Experience in sheet metal fabrication/installation, & removeable blankets manufacturing/installation.
· NCCER certification preferred, but not required.
· Able to pass a pre-hire insulation

*Responsibilities:*
· Responsible for the lay out, BOM creation, fabrication and installation of complex insulation materials and covering (aluminum or other) systems for process piping, utility piping, towers and vessels.
· Capable to read/understand drawings, blueprints and conduct material take offs.
· Must be able to recognize hazards regarding working on scaffolding.
· Must be able to take field measurements, fabricate, install insulation and metal jacket covering.
· Knowledgeable in all areas of measuring, fabricating and installation of removable insulation blankets on valves, flanges and various types of equipment as required.
*Required Skills:*
· Isometric drawing/take-offs
· Proper use of a band saw, crimper/beadier, roller, shear, box pan brake and other tools required for fabricating, installing insulation and metal jacketing.
· Skilled in all areas of manufacturing/installation of removable blankets utilizing ½” hog ring guns (Sewing machine process would be a plus)
*Post Hire Requirements:*
· Willing to meet Starcon and client background and drug testing requirements.
· May be required to pass physical examination, pre-employment if necessary, and as required by STARCON.
· Able to follow all Starcon and clients’ safety and quality control procedures.
· Work in a team effort with all team members, to reach a common goal.
· Be willing to assist other crafts when directed such as scaffold builders/infrastructure if requested.
· Ability to periodically work extended hours and shifts when deemed necessary.
*Work Environment:*
The work environment may require you to work in special protective PPE specific to the unit and working at heights.
Extended work hours may be required.
Exposure to outdoor weather conditions.
Must be physically able to carry up to 50 lbs.
