Overview:
We are seeking a full-time Senior Display Assembly Process Engineer for our headquarters in the greater Kansas City area.
In this role, you will be responsible for touch panel assembly and glass bonding processes for product displays to acheive product and production requirements.
Responsibilities:
Essential Functions
Lead the introduction of displays into production and ensure the robustness and scalability of display assembly processes.
Support the development of new production methods for display assemblies.
Partner with global team to align and leverage best practices.
Lead projects or sub projects to develop display assembly capabilities.
Utilizes expert CAD software skills to model complex tools.
Develop process instructions for manufacturing associates for complex production methods.
Estimate level of effort and resources required for a task including calculating build times.
Apply design for manufacturability guidelines to design reviews and provides alternative solutions as appropriate.
Assess and qualify factory associates for certification to a process.
Provide justification for purchases to support manufacturing needs and process improvements.
Analyze manufacturing data to determine quality trends, find technical root causes and implement corrective actions for given problems and develop designed experiments for process and quality improvements.
Design custom tooling as needed for specific applications.
Serve as a mentor to less experienced process engineers.
Apply a sense of urgency, commitment, focus and resourcefulness to develop timely solutions.
Qualifications:
Basic Qualifications
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Industrial or Computer Engineering AND a minimum of 5 years relevant experience OR an equivalent combination of education and experience
Excellent academics (cumulative GPA greater than or equal to 3.
0 as a general rule)
Demonstrated strong and effective verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
Demonstrates proficiency and full understanding of engineering and operations principles and processes
Must be positive, detail oriented, organized, team oriented and a driven problem solver, multi-tasker, and self-starter with the ability to prioritize in a fast paced, deadline-driven environment
Desired Qualifications
Previous work or internship expeirence in a manufacturing environement
Six Sigma Certification
Previous experience with AS9100 and NADCAP
