POSITION SUMMARY: This position is responsible for providing general service to food service equipment with specific responsibility for identifying repair and/or replacement needs.
This position is expected to install, repair, maintain and upgrade equipment; assist other skilled trades; and ensure tools and materials are available at job site.
This position is part of the Food Services Team and reports to the Food Services Maintenance Supervisor.
PRIMARY DUTIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
Coordinate with supervisor and other related trades to complete projects and work orders efficiently.
Diagnose causes of problems and/or failures in commercial cooling, electrical, and plumbing systems and identify repair and/or replacement needs.
Fabricate equipment parts meeting specialty needs and/or replacing unavailable parts.
Maintain equipment, tools, and vehicle ensuring safe operating conditions.
Participate in meetings, workshops, trainings and seminars as assigned to convey and/or gather information required to perform job functions.
Perform routine and preventive maintenance ensuring ongoing functioning of commercial cooling systems and electrical systems.
Prepare written documentation in the form of repair records, activity reports, etc.
Transport equipment, supplies, and tools to ensure required materials are available to job sites.
Analyze blueprints, drawings, and schematics of electrical systems to determine efficiency in installation of new or upgraded systems.
Estimate equipment and materials needed to complete work projects.
Monitor equipment, systems, and tool condition and recommend maintenance and repairs.
Maintain inventory, request equipment and supplies to ensure availability of items to complete necessary installations and/or repairs.
Respond to emergency situations both during and after hours to resolve immediate safety concerns.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Must hold a valid driver’s license and provide evidence of insurability
Job related experience with increasing levels of responsibility desired
EPA Certification preferred
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
This position requires the performance of heavy work which may include exerting up to 100 pounds of force, and/or up to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
The position involves all environmental working conditions which include but are not limited to extreme cold/heat, close quarters, hazards, loud noises, and vibration.
The position also requires significant lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling and fine finger dexterity; frequent balancing, climbing, crawling, crouching, feeling, grasping, hearing, kneeling, reaching, repetitive motion, standing, stooping, talking, and walking.
The position also requires visual acuity.
This position involves traveling to various building locations to deliver materials.
This position is performed under hazardous conditions including temperature extremes.
