Directs and coordinates activities of workers engaged in repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment.
Responsible for planning, purchasing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and equipment of buildings and facilities.
Perform analyses of operational processes, resource allocation, energy use, and safety processes, and recommend and implement improvements.
Hands on leader that will perform duties personally and through supervision.
This is a hands-on leadership role that may be filled at Supervisor level based on qualifications and years of experience.
Principal Duties and Accountabilities (*Essential Functions) Reviews job orders to determine work priorities.
Schedules repair, maintenance, and installation of machines, tools, and equipment to ensure continuous production operations.
Coordinates activities of workers fabricating or modifying machines, tools, or equipment to manufacture new products or improve existing products.
Develops preventive maintenance program in conjunction with engineering and maintenance staff.
Responsible for the purchasing function for all maintenance, repair and replacement parts.
Manages inventory of replacement parts, screw, bearings etc.
Interfaces with suppliers as needed via phone, email, and in-person to maintain a favorable supplier relationship and to ensure on-time delivery of product.
Reviews production, quality control, and maintenance reports and statistics to plan and modify maintenance activities.
Coordinate and oversee contractors.
Inspects operating machines and equipment for conformance with operational standards.
Plans, develops, and implements new methods and procedures designed to improve operations, minimize operating costs, and effect greater utilization of labor and materials.
Reviews new product plans and discusses equipment needs and modifications with design engineers.
Ensures tools, equipment, and supplies required for operations are available.
Takes initiative to pursue and develop new ideas, processes, and methods to improve cost performance or production improvements.
Confers with management, engineering, and quality control personnel to resolve maintenance problems and recommend measures to improve operations and conditions of machines and equipment.
Troubleshoot, investigate and fix machine and building issues Develop maintenance polices to include: Preventive Machine Schedule, SOP’s on routine maintenance tasks.
Reviews maintenance costs, quality and modify maintenance and inventory control programs to maintain and enhance profitable operation of division.
Recommend budget items and oversee adherence Develop plans for efficient use of material machines and employees Follows all plant safety rules and OSHA/EPA regulations.
Ensure employees and other plant personal are following OSHA rules Maintain building system to include: Fire/alarm systems, plumping, electrical, HVAC and other building systems.
Primary point of contact for fire and burglar alarm calls.
Must be on call for plant hours if operator, or group leader cannot make the shift Supervisory Responsibilities Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
Responsibilities include: Training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Daily Supervision of employees responsible for their safety and job assignment / activities.
Directs training and indoctrination of workers to improve work performance and acquaint workers with company policies and procedures.
Oversee tool production Develop maintenance staff and tooling staff.

3-5 years maintenance hands on maintenance experience required, 1-3 years experience working as a facility engineer or in a maintenance supervisory role (Prevention maintenance planning, leading maintenance techs, implementing/running maintenance programs) Experience in a manufacturing/woodworking environment preferred.
Knowledge and hands on experience with hydraulic motors/systems, PLC’s, VFDs, CNC machines, electrical wiring/trouble shooting, 3 phase electrical equipment, machine mechanical repair, pneumatic systems, machine interlocks, custom machine tool equipment, Experience with machine tooling.
Experience managing maintenance program Computer Skills To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of SAP, S4 or a similar ERP system, and Microsoft Office.
Additional Skills and Abilities Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, blue prints, machine drawings, or governmental regulations.
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from other departmental managers.
