Reporting to the Production Supervisor, Main Shop, this role is a full-time, hourly position scheduled Monday through Friday with the availability for overtime when necessary.
The Fabricator I is a strong team player with a positive attitude, is willing to take direction as well as be a self-starter and enjoys working in a creative, problem solving, and fast-paced manufacturing environment.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONS may include but are not limited to:
Reading and understanding product schematics and assembly instructions
Taking part in product development meetings
Verifying dimensions and product specifications
Ensuring that all the required parts for assembly are present
Marking cutting lines on material
Ensuring that all parts are properly fitted, aligned and screwed in
Ensuring that quality control standards are met
Maintaining a production schedule
Testing products for their functionality
Troubleshooting and stress testing products to minimize problems or recalls
Reporting and detailing product malfunctions
Adhering to assembly safety standards
Improving processes as needed
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES
Ability to be a strong team player with a positive attitude and a great work ethic
Knowledge of fractions, decimals - both standard and metric- as well as basic geometry
Knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints
Ability to use various measuring tools
Knowledge of fabrication shop procedures
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE
1-3 years of experience with finish carpentry, cabinet making, custom woodworking, finishing, and plastics required
Basic electrical skills are a plus but not required

This is an hourly (non-exempt) position.
