*Job Description*
*Position Summary*
The Quality Technician role has various phases and stages through its life cycle while communicating with all management and production staff.
The Quality Tech’s responsibilities can include measuring parts, first piece layouts, performing internal audits, along with calibrating and measuring test equipment.
The Quality Tech’s must possess and consistently demonstrate excellent communication and record keeping skills, good attention to detail, and mathematical aptitude *ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Technical* * Read and interpret part drawings and technical specifications * Develop and improve inspection instructions * Inspections for measuring and test equipment to include but not limited to calipers, micrometers, height gages, gage blocks and specialty gaging for steel stamped and fabricated parts.
* Maintain documentation through organizing and filing system * Compliance through internal audits including but not limited to the manufacturing floor, internal company work and inspection instructions * Through continuous improvement processes, assist with statistical studies, R&R’s, efficiency, product quality and implementing improvements.
* Dimensional Layout Reports * Compare quality standards to customer requirements * Answer Questions for customers and provide PPAP support * Perform calibrations and maintain the calibration database for all employee, company and customer owned gaging *Interpersonal* * Use good judgment and decision making on quality related issues based * Clearly and concise communication with audit findings * Open communication with personal * Excellent time management skills while handling multiple tasks * Maintain a high degree of integrity * Perform other duties as needed or assigned *Organizational* * Understand and follow employee handbook guidelines * Comply with and Enforce Safety Practices and use of PPE * Ensure adherence to legal and company policies and procedures * Provides Quality service by enforcing quality standards *Desired Qualifications* * Willingness and technical aptitude for learning to inspect parts on the CMM, with full understanding of GD&T * Desire for additional education and training *Required Qualifications* * High school diploma or GED required * Two years of related experience and training or an equivalent combination of education and experience desired.
* Effectively communicate and understand job instructions both verbally and written in the English language.
* Ability to perform basic mathematical computations.
Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios and proportions to practical situations.
* Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions.
Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical, written or pictorial form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
