" *POSITION OBJECTIVE:* The Quality Assurance Supervisor, under the direction of the Director of Corporate QA, supervises and trains the conduct of QA auditors, performs new product inspections and completes the QA portion of the engineering validation form, and coordinates analysis and processing of customer returns.
The Supervisor ensures that inspections are performed in accordance with applicable Federal and State laws as well as ISO procedures and maintains documentation per the Quality Management System (QMS) focused on customer satisfaction and continual improvement.
The Quality Assurance Supervisor also oversees analysis of all rejected materials.
*ORGANIZATIONAL SUPERVISION, REPORTING AND INTERFACE* Position reports to the Director of Corporate QA and works directly with production control, manager, supervisors and leads, material handlers, Engineering, and warehouse.
Quality Assurance Supervisor will also interface with other associates within Mission Plastics North and other associates within the Peterson Manufacturing organization.
*ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES* * Training, directing, selecting, scheduling, and assessing all auditors and test technicians per ISO 9001:2015 QMS procedures.
* Maintain informational documents for authorized 1st Article Verification and Inspector-Tester Stamp Log by assisting in the training of new personnel in other departments in quality-related subjects.
* Completing/distributing QCDs, inspection reports and approving non-conforming material dispositions.
* Verifying that production meets quality standards per the relevant print/specification.
* Work with customer service and engineering to investigate and report on root causes for harness returned products both manufacturing defects and warranty.
* Enforcing specifications of the Peterson Manufacturing Quality Assurance Manual including verification of purchased products, control of monitoring and measuring devices, monitoring and measurement of products, and control of nonconforming products.
* Maintain history files within the Quality Assurance department.
*SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED* * Above average ability to deal with people throughout the organization * Effective written and oral communication skills and demonstrated leadership qualities * Demonstrated initiative and self-motivation.
* Exemplary understanding and ability to apply Quality Assurance techniques for assessment purposes.
* Ability to work well with all company personnel, to communicate effectively both orally and in writing, and to work well with minimal supervision and guidance.
* Demonstrated leadership and motivational abilities as well as the ability to effectively promote new ideas/and concepts and develop and initiate plans for the attainment of short and long-term goals.
*EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS* * High school education, or equivalent * Minimum of 3 years’ experience in relevant manufacturing assignments requiring blueprint reading and interpretation of drawings and specifications * Competency in the use of gauges, calipers, micrometers, and working knowledge of materials and processes used by the company * Broad knowledge of assembly requirements and interrelationship between assembly parts * Experience working in a manufacturing environment with training and experience in; ISO 9001:2015 or ITAF16949:2016 Quality Management Systems, Quality Audit, Statistical Methods, working with customers/Suppliers and Supervision * AIAG PPAP experience a plus *ENVIRONMENT* Duties are performed indoors at the corporate offices in Grandview, MO.
Employee must be able to move throughout the production floor to required workstations and be in continuous motion, walking, pulling, pushing and lifting up to 90% of the time.
Employee must be able to lift and transport product weighing up to 50lbs.
The person in this position frequently communicates with others internally who may have various inquiries, etc.
Must be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
