CNC Advanced Program/Set-Up/Lead/Operate/NS
Grade Level: 9
The CNC Advanced Program/Set-Up/Lead/Operate/NS located in Grandview, MO reports to our Plant manager and is responsible for developing new CNC programs using prescribed software and proven programs by performing machine set-ups.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Develop CNC programs for machining parts utilizing prescribed software.
Design and develop concepts for new fixture and tool designs utilizing CAD software.
Set-up and install tooling necessary for parts production as directed by the Machining Team Leader.
This involves obtaining tooling from the tool storage area, installing in any of the special production machines in the prescribed manner, and making adjustments to produce parts within stated manufacturing tolerances.
Check first piece dimensions after set-up to assure conformance with engineering prints and quality standards.
Use a variety of measuring instruments; i.
e.
micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, plug and ring gages, etc.
Provide Supervisory direction and support for all personnel assigned to the CNC and Manual machine shops.
Train new machine set-up personnel and machine operators in the proper use of the machines and instruct them how to perform quality part checks.
Advise management of spare parts required for repairs to equipment and tooling, within budget constraints.
Perform simple repairs to equipment as needed.
Order spare parts as required to properly maintain equipment and tooling.
Responsible for general housekeeping in his/her immediate area of responsibility.
Assure strict adherence to company safety and health standards.
Collects, records, and maintains accurate CNC programs and other production related information and/or data as required.

Requirements
Required Skills / Experience / Equipment Operation:
Must have sufficient experience and/or training in basic machine shop practices to program, set-up, and operate both manual and CNC equipment in accordance with engineering drawings and tooling instructions.
Require a minimum of an Associate Degree in CNC Programming or related degree or equivalent experience.
Must be able to plan and utilize production labor, consistent with company policies, and maintain the respect of the employees in the group.
Physical/Mental Essential Functions:
Ability to stand for prolonged periods of time
Ability to reach above shoulders
Ability to walk back and forward thought-out facility
Ability to control operation of hand or foot
Ability to lift / carry up to 70 pounds.
Ability to turn wrist frequently in repetitive motion
