Position Summary:

Primary Position Duties:
Operate directional drills, mini-excavators, and other equipment to install UG plant facilities.
Set up job equipment and reel trailers proficiently.
Perform utility exposes (potholing) and understand the utility locate process.
Locate other utilities as needed and maintain clearances from other utilities, ground, road, highway, sidewalk, and non-pedestrian areas.
Transport, handle, and place conduits (rolled and stick) in a proper manner.
Properly transport and install fiber reels.
Install fiber cables in conduits following proper procedures.
Set and secure pedestals and vaults accurately.
Read and interpret network prints.
Adhere to OSHA safety requirements to ensure safe and efficient completion of the job(s).
Maintain regular phone communication throughout the workday.
Follow directions provided by the crew leader.
Perform any other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements:
Working Conditions:
The employee will primarily work in the field.
The job requires working outdoors in various weather conditions.
Exposure to dust, fluctuating temperatures, and periodic high noise levels may occur.

Use hands and fingers to handle, feel, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
Reach with hands and arms.
Stand, talk, and hear frequently.
Travel:
Travel to other project sites in different states may be required to assist with new project start-ups.
Travel may be for up to a 14-day period
Education or Skills:
Previous experience operating directional drills is required.
High school diploma or equivalent.
Combination of technical training and/or relevant experience.
Previous experience in a construction environment is preferred.
Must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position.
Flexibility to work nights and weekends, if necessary.
Ability to work in all weather conditions.
Valid driver's license.
Authorized to work in the United States.
Must pass drug, background, Department of Transportation (DOT), and Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) screenings.
