This position will be located at the Lake City Army Ammunitions Plant in Independence, MO.
Machine Specialists start at $20.
68/hour with an increase to $27.
57/hour after successfully completing 120 days.

Essential Functions*:
Set up and operate machines, performs mechanical adjustments, and production equipment repairs.
Visually inspects, using a variety of gages, to ensure manufacturing specifications are achieved.
Reads and interprets detailed prints, sketches, layouts, specifications, etc.
Prepares records and reports such as inventory, receiving, operating logs, lab analysis, and quantities.
Push hand trucks and fill hoppers to keep machines supplied with materials.
Maintains equipment and work area in a clean and safe condition.
Adheres to all safety requirements including lockout/tagout and wearing of required safety equipment.
Position Requirements*:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Must successfully pass a mechanical aptitude test.
Advanced mechanical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
Experience operating heavy equipment such as hand trucks or forklifts.
Ability to use measuring devices, micrometers, calibrated steel tapes, calipers, weight scales, and power and non-power hand tools.
Experience operating machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, saws, etc.
Count, make simple arithmetic additions and subtractions required.
Strong communication skills with ability to work independently and within a team environment.
Ability to stand for prolonged periods, lift, carry and push 5 to 400 pounds, reach overhead, twist and bend at the waist, climb ladders and stairs.
Must have full vision, including color vision.
Exposure to extreme temperatures.
Ability to work any shift, including overtime.
This position requires access to ITAR controlled technical data, and as such, employment will be contingent upon the candidate's ability to access ITAR controlled technical data pursuant to an export license approved by the Directorate of Defense Trade Controls if required.
This position requires successful vetting as an Employee Possessor in accordance with U.
S.
Department of Justice and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives.
This position requires successful vetting for unescorted access in accordance with U.
S.
Army and Department of Defense access policies.
