Supervises maintenance operations and sets priorities for servicing machine breakdowns.
The position is responsible for scheduling personnel for preventative maintenance, repair work and daily routines.
Maintains and updates personnel on safety procedures.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Maintains maintenance operations and sets priorities by inspecting production operations, checking production logs periodically throughout shift, assisting supervisor to determine production priorities and assisting personnel in repairing machine breakdowns.
Completes administrative duties by assisting with interviewing and hiring duties, counseling and disciplining personnel, ensuring permits and issued and posted and ensuring parts are ordered and in stock and equipment manuals are updated.
Instructs and trains mechanics on safety procedures by conducting weekly safety meetings, training mechanics on proper usage of equipment and hardware and inspecting tools and work areas.
Schedules maintenance personnel by scheduling preventative maintenance and correctives with the Planner Scheduler, instructing mechanics on daily routines and preventative maintenance and ensuring maintenance personnel enter the daily routine and breakdowns in the computer.
Minimum Job Requirements:
Education/Certifications:
Prefer an associates degree in electronics
Lockout/Tagout License
Forklift Certification
Confined Space Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Experience:
Must have three to five years of experience, preferably in a food manufacturing environment
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Must be proficient in motor controls and relay logic.
Must be proficient in developing and troubleshooting PLC’s.
Must be proficient in production line automation.
Must have a strong background working with electrical meters.

Must have the ability to read electrical schematics and blueprints.
Must have an excellent mechanical background.
Must be able to work off shifts
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Work requires supervising and monitoring performance for a regular group of employees or a work unit, including providing input on hiring/disciplinary actions and work objectives/effectiveness, and realigning work as needed.
Working Conditions and Physical Effort:
Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and/or noise.
Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity.
Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, forklifts, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards.
Position requires the ability to stand; walking around office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity; and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting on a daily basis.
Also requires the ability to see; hear; and communicate with associates as well as others by utilizing professional etiquette.
