*Summary:*
The main function of a manufacturing process engineer is to direct the development and/or improvements of manufacturing processes and equipment.
*Job Responsibilities:*
• Propose and evaluate manufacturing process and equipment for assigned areas.
• Meet plant goals and standards in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
• Coordinate the effective use of personnel, materials, and equipment in supporting SPQRC initiatives.
• Evaluate expenditures for processes and/or equipment.
• Provide technical assistance and training for assigned plant operations.
• Works closely with production and maintenance personnel and suppliers to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Analyze tooling and equipment and select proper steps for solution.
• Communicate with internal and external business units.
• Support plants in achieving Safety, People, Quality, Responsiveness and Cost goals.
• Support and implement the QS9000/ISO14001/(GMS) Global Manufacturing System compliance processes.
• Responsible for all welding.
Responsible for laser welding, brazing, projection welding, drawn arc welding and brazing, mechanical joining (self-piercing rivets), sealer/adhesive dispensing processes.
• Will need to be adaptable and being willing to do and learn more than just spot welding for ex.
• Someone that is paying attention to details is critical for those roles and having the ability to communicate that.
• Will not tolerate micromanaging.
Expecting people to figure out solutions after the training experience.
• Performs plant floor troubleshooting, training, problem solving, and root cause analysis for welding and joining processes.
• Must be able to work various shifts / rotate shifts, and weekends as required.
*Skills:*
• Expert knowledge of manufacturing and assembly processes.
• Basic knowledge of tooling processes.
• Basic knowledge of automotive industry processes.
• Knowledge in MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Knowledge with Lotus Notes or other email communication tool.
• Ability to partner with senior management to analyze and solve issues.
• Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work well with others, exhibiting teamwork skills.
*Education/Experience:*
• Bachelor’s Degree in engineering or related discipline.
• 10+ years of experience required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: $66,794.
96 - $80,441.
