The Sr Security Technical Specialist is a foundational role within the Hallmark information security team.
This team is accountable for the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of Hallmark systems, data, and services across the Hallmark portfolio.

WHAT YOUR ROLE ENTAILS AND HOW YOU'LL CONTRIBUTE As a Sr Security Technical Specialist, you will be responsible for leading the design, development and delivery of tactical cyber-security operational threat monitoring and incident response capabilities, covering the organization’s traditional legacy and enterprise-wide cloud technology solutions.
You will have advanced technical skills and be the lead technical forensics analyst.
In this role, you will need to stay abreast of industry trends and the changing threat landscape and work on complex problems requiring in-depth threat analysis and evaluation of potential & verified risk factors impacting the enterprise.
The role will provide oversight of critical information security systems & services.
Additional responsibilities include: Ensure confidentiality of data, information integrity and systems availability for all technology solutions.
You will ensure all systems, processes and technologies are aligned with the National Institute of Standards & Technology (NIST) Cyber Security framework, as well as with federal, state, and local regulations where applicable.
Coordinate cyber security efforts between the corporate Information Security (IS) group, IT, and respective corporate business units, specifically around secure development and operations (DEVSECOPS), process improvement, architecture, external consultants, and other technical resources and key vendors.
Develop and maintain an effective level of operational support of security applications and be a key resource in troubleshooting or issue resolution.
Establish and report key performance indicator (KPI) metrics; track and report on performance; provide reporting on operations performance of monitored security activity.
Ensure Security Operations tools are effectively utilized and operating, identify gaps in process or procedure and implement new solutions accordingly.
To be successful in this role, you must have deep technical knowledge and business process acumen, to develop and deploy high value solutions.
You also need to be able to drive the design, analysis, and implementation of administrative, physical & technical safeguards, to include the installation, assessment, severity, escalation, response, and recovery.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS The following is required to be considered for this role: At least 5 years of experience in security or information technology role At least 2 years' experience working in an EDR/XDR such as FireEye, McAfee, Trellix, Symantec Experience in cyber security, NIST Cyber Security framework and overall security remediation capabilities Certification(s) in specific technology disciplines (CISSP, CISA, CISM, or CCP, Cisco Network, Microsoft Engineering, Application programming (WASP)) or Cloud security architecture Knowledge of Operating System configurations (Windows, MAC, Linux) Knowledge of endpoint detection and response solutions Experience analyzing large data sets and report/present & communicate findings PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS Your resume and application will stand out if you have: 5+ years of information security experience Cloud and/or security certifications (CISSP, CISM, MCSE, GSEC, Security+, AWS, GCP, Azure) Broad background in Information Technology Prior experiences managing web proxy solutions and vulnerability management solutions Experience working with O365 MCAS and Advanced Threat Prevention capabilities Working knowledge of network protocols Scripting and languages like Python, Java, JSON, YAM Experience participating as a member of an Incident Response team Involvement with Vendor Risk assessments Experience with security policy and standards creation, interpretation, and maintenance Demonstrated ability to partner with diverse technology and business partners ADDITIONAL DETAILS This is a hybrid position, working one day a week onsite at headquarters in Kansas City, MO.
