Summary/Purpose:
The Senior Sales Account Manager would be responsible for managing and growing the sales of affiliated distributor (AD) members accounts across the USA.
Duties would include maintaining and growing market share while qualifying and developing new business, all in support of JTEKT’s overall short- and long-term industrial bearing strategic sales goals through an annual planning.
Essential Duties and Accountabilities:
The primary role of this individual is to sell and promote JTEKT bearing products and programs to AD corporate and AD members, servicing the existing customer base and growing overall sales by increasing share at existing accounts and developing new end user accounts & markets.
Major duties include:
• Primary JTEKT contact to engage and foster relationships with key AD corporate and AD members (at all levels) to make JTEKT a preferred supplier and grow market share.
• Research AD member market, service, and product requirements to identify areas JTEKT can successfully, and profitably, grow sales.
• Develop sales strategies to achieve sales goals while gaining alignment with sales leadership and business management.
• Work with Regional Sales Director’s (RSD), Sales Account Managers (SAM), customer service, marketing, and supply chain to successfully launch and promote sales programs to AD member corporate level, branch level and end-users.
• Achieve and push to exceed annual business plan forecast and year over year growth.
• Actively work with other Sales Account Managers and JTEKT resources in other designated territory as needed.
• Continually strive to increase your knowledge of JTEKT products, services, target markets, etc.
as defined by corporate.
• Proactively solicit and establish customer needs and requirements while communicating with corporate in such a manner as to avoid any interruption of customer production or operations.
• Create monthly reporting on sales strategy, achievements, and barriers.
Includes AD portal and reporting.
• Attend AD conferences, trade shows, and regional meetings as necessary.
• Communicate with appropriate industry associations, trade organizations, etc.
as need for position.
• Gather and forward information on competitor activities, as well as general issues and concerns monthly.
• Develop and maintain strong, positive relationships with peers in sales organizations, and corporate personnel.
• Entertain customers as necessary and generally maintain goodwill with customers and prospects.
Job Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
• High mechanical aptitude and ability to understand and communicate technical concepts.
• Strong verbal, written communication, and presentation skills, with emphasis in quality and customer service.
• Advanced decision making and problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated individual capable of working effectively from remote office.
• Extensive industrial aftermarket experience working with mid to sr.
level management at industrial distributors and OEM’s.
• Ability to work in a team-based, participative environment working towards a group goal.
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint and CRM’s.
Education and Experience:
• ME preferred, but BS/BA in Business Administration, Industrial Technology, Industrial Distribution, etc.
required.
• Minimum 10 years’ industry experience.
• Minimum five years’ experience as outside sales representative for bearing manufacturer or PT related company, selling to Industrial OE, Aerospace, Industrial after market (AM), Auto AM and/or Auto OE accounts throughout the open territory.

• 60% travel with overnight stays required.
• Work is mostly performed in a normal office setting with minimal exposure to health or safety hazards, and with substantial time spent working on a computer.

• The performance of this position requires exposure to manufacturing areas which require the use of prescribed PPE.
