Estimator - Kansas City

Job Description Estimator - Kansas City, Missouri Reports to: Preconstruction Director and Executive Team Work closely with the Director of Preconstruction & Executive Team to oversee and coordinate the bid process for vendors and subcontractors.
Read drawings, specifications, and narratives to understand project requirements.
Quantify the building elements required for a project by calculating items from construction drawings (takeoff).
Build relationships and coordinate and communicate with subcontractors.
Assist with compiling the project deliverable package in negotiated work, including providing quantity takeoff visuals and project clarifications Assist with setting up and evaluating bids.
Coordinate and communicate with Preconstruction leadership and the project team to advance the project.
Build and sustain relationships with leadership and the project team.
Partner with and support the team with tasks as requested.
Meet deadlines for project(s) by handling deliverables for project(s), meeting associated deadlines, and staying organized.
Required Education and Experience: High school diploma or equivalent Experience in general plan reading and interpretation Preferred Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Engineering, Construction Management, or the equivalent 1+ year of construction estimating experience Experience using Bluebeam or other document management software Experience using Sage Estimating software Experience using and Sketchup software Experience using 3D software Experience applying Construction Specifications Institute (CSI) writing standards Experience using Building Connected Experience identifying discrepancies in drawings Knowledge of material costs and experience with production rates Knowledge of bid leveling and Bid Tabs Knowledge of interior and exterior construction scopes Experience meeting deadlines in challenging situations Experience: Construction Estimating: 1 year (Required) Job Type: Full-time Benefits: 401(k) matching Dental insurance Flexible schedule Health insurance Life insurance Paid time off Professional development assistance Referral program Vision insurance Schedule: 8 hour shift Monday - Friday Work Location: In person
