How will you make your mark? HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT: The 2nd Shift Supervisor will lead Oregon Tool postponement and shipping operations, including the coordination of delivery and cost activities for the assigned department or shift to meet department schedules and targets.
This role is responsible for safety, quality and performance for team members in the assigned department or shift.
In addition, this role improves systems utilized to achieve department and distribution goals and contributes to long-term planning and development.
LOCATION: Oregon Tool -North American Distribution Center (NADC) in Kansas City, MO THE DETAILS: Selects and trains employees to meet cost, quality, delivery, safety, and environmental standards.
Supervision of assigned employees including timecard oversight, performance management, coaching, counseling, and development.
Financial management in support of the department budget.
Monitors systems to assure outgoing quality meets standards.
Responsible for ensuring shipping delivery to schedule utilizing assigned personnel and equipment.
Manages labor costs and supply expenses.
Ensures department operates in accordance with safety, health, and environmental standards.
Supports continuous improvement efforts, including problem solving activities.
Applies quality and lean principles and tools.
Manages overall equipment effectiveness including maintenance.
Participates in plant safety committee, evacuations, and emergency response.
Participates in supervisory development.
Communication and Documentation Maintain open communication through conversation and both formal and informal documents.
QUALIFICATIONS & SKILLS: Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business or another related field required.
Years of service may be substituted for a degree.
Minimum of three years’ experience in high volume shipping environment.
Prior supervisory experience in a production/manufacturing environment, including scheduling, workflow, and independent decision making in a multiple shift operation.
Demonstrated skills in Lean, Continuous Improvement and 5S Initiatives.
Understanding of shipping processes, scheduling, and workflow and updates.
Understanding of budgets, including tracking actual to budget and basic corrective action.
Interviewing, selecting, and training distribution personnel.
Demonstrated accountability and ownership of team and department performance.
Self-starter with the ability to make quick decisions with limited data.
Demonstrated leadership and team facilitation.
Able to complete responsibilities in a timely, professional, and quality manner.
Solve problems analytically; search out relevant information and gauge its importance when making decisions.
Effective written and oral communication skills; able to express oneself clearly and in technical and non-technical terms.

AVAILABILITY: Available to work on site as required by job including non-standard shifts; eligible for domestic and international travel several times per year up to two weeks’ duration.
This position will work as a 2nd Shift Supervisor.
Schedules adjusts as business demands, but a typical schedule as listed below: Monday- Thursday 3:30pm-12:00am Friday 3:30pm-2:00am For individuals assigned and/or hired to work in Washington, Colorado, Nevada, California, New York, New Jersey, Rhode Island, and Connecticut, Oregon Tool is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role.
The disclosed range estimate has not been adjusted for the applicable geographic differential associated with the location at which the position may be filled.
At Oregon Tool, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
A reasonable estimate of the current range is $62,900 to $75,000.
