Position Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Skid Steer Operator who holds a Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) to join our dynamic landscaping team.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in operating skid steer loaders and possess the necessary expertise to transport equipment to and from job sites using a Class A CDL.
You will play a crucial role in executing various landscaping projects with precision and efficiency.
Your expertise in operating heavy equipment and your understanding of landscaping techniques will contribute to the successful completion of projects that enhance outdoor spaces and create beautiful environments for our clients.
Responsibilities:
Operate skid steer equipment to perform a range of landscaping tasks, including grading, leveling, excavation, trenching, and material transportation.
Operate trucks and trailers with a Class A CDL to transport equipment, machinery, and materials.
Conduct thorough pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles and equipment to ensure proper functionality, safety compliance, and report any issues promptly.
Safely load, unload, and transport materials such as soil, gravel, mulch, plants, and construction materials as required.
Prepare job sites by clearing debris, obstacles, and vegetation to facilitate landscaping activities.
Assist in the installation of landscape features, including planting trees, shrubs, and flowers, and constructing hardscapes like retaining walls and pathways.
Operate attachments and implements such as buckets, forks, augers, and grapples to perform specialized tasks as needed.
Perform routine maintenance on the skid steer equipment, including pre- and post-operation inspections, cleaning, and minor repairs.
Adhere to all safety protocols, guidelines, and regulations to ensure a secure work environment for yourself, team members, and other personnel on site.
Communicate effectively with supervisors, team members, and project managers to provide updates, report issues, and coordinate tasks.
Maintain a strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a commitment to producing high-quality results in every project.
Qualifications:
Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
Previous experience as a Class A CDL driver, preferably within landscaping, construction, or transportation industry.
Proven experience as a skid steer operator, preferably in a landscaping or construction setting.
Knowledge of landscaping techniques, grading, excavation, and material handling practices.
Strong understanding of safety protocols and regulations related to heavy equipment operation.
