The Purpose of the Design Engineer II is to design custom greenhouse structures by preparing construction drawing sets & provide technical support to manufacturing and construction.
The position will directly support the mission and values of Stuppy.
Essential Functions
Partner with sales team to create conceptual designs for bids.
Review sales orders, quotations, and product requests to determine design requirements.
Create drawings and bills of materials.
Interpret construction drawings and communicate with customers and associates.
Provide technical support related to construction.
Maintain database information on drawings sent to customers.
Travel to customer sites to inspect and assist in the construction of greenhouses.
Maintenance and documentation of construction procedures and best practices.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, or civil engineering.
2-5 years’ experience working in a design engineering role.
Experience in construction, engineering, drafting, or similar field is a plus.
AutoCAD, SolidWorks, or similar CAD tools.
Familiar with common construction materials such as steel, aluminum, and surface treatments.
Ability to make mathematical calculations, including division, multiplication, fractions, trigonometry, and geometry.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervisor intervention.
Excellent organizational skills and ability to streamline processes for maximum effectiveness.
Excellent interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills and able to work effectively with associates at all levels of the organization.
Advanced skills in navigating the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel, Outlook, and Power Point.

Vision perception is normal for administrative duties.
