Apply to work with our ever-growing team and help us keep the world cool! JOB SUMMARY The primary purpose of this position is to lead, oversee, and work with less experienced designers to ensure timely, orderly and accurate completion of cooling tower orders.
The incumbent has strong product knowledge with developing expertise in a specific field.
The incumbent is responsible for ensuring the project team's output is consistent with project requirements, applicable science and all regulatory codes.
This position is responsible for the progression of orders from field sales representatives to application engineers and ultimately to the plant for fabrication or the field for construction.
The incumbent must excel at creating drawings in the CAD tools relevant to assigned products.
The drawings must be such that viewers can easily understand them and can compile lists of necessary materials based on viewing them.
The incumbent is also responsible for fabrication details, design, proper descriptions, and engineering specifications of materials coming from vendors.
Other responsibilities include meeting shipping schedules with ultimate cost savings applied, creating installation drawings and instructions for safe tower assembly, and assisting sales support with proposals and aftermarket issues.
The incumbent also deals directly with vendors and/or field erectors in order to address problems affecting material shipments and/or product construction.
The successful incumbent works efficiently and accurately, and collaborates effectively with designers, engineers and other departments.
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Review work of inexperienced designers; provide mentoring and coaching Train other designers in use of software tools and product details Provide training to and answer questions from field construction and/or manufacturing plants Plan own work and create own timelines consistent with project requirements; contribute to project overview, timeline and plan when appropriate Draw and generate bills of material pertaining to product development, sales order processing, maintenance and/or redesign Follow company document control procedures to save and/or revise drawings Support suppliers, manufacturing and/or construction by answering questions and clarifying uncertainty regarding documentation and instructions Review documentation (parts lists and drawings); track, investigate, and correct discrepancies Maintain integrity of product model files to conform with currently defined product specifications Create and execute engineering change orders (document the revisions and revise data and drawings as needed) Maintain product configurators to conform with currently defined product specifications, availability and substitutions Responsible for Americas locations EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s or associate’s degree in drafting or engineering technology, or equivalent experience 1+ years of experience HVAC and/or cooling tower experience preferred Strong proficiency with CAD tools relevant to assigned products; certain roles may require strong proficiency in 3D modeling Programming and/or Visual Basic knowledge helpful Basic proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel Basic proficiency in SAP or other ERP system Knowledge of and ability to apply the fundamental concepts, practices and procedures of particular field of specialization to the completion of moderately complex assignments Success in applying skills to specific company projects Significant knowledge of some products Accountability for specific projects; responsibility for project accuracy, budget, and timeline Creative thinker Thank you for your interest in our company.
