Reporting to the Production Supervisor - Installation & Logistics, this role is a dynamic, hard-working and customer focused position.
This is a traveling position with an expected rate of travel to be 20+ days per month.
The Installers bring our projects to life for a variety of clients (movie theaters, professional & collegiate sports, museums, etc.
) onsite to completion.
This position is based out of the Overland Park, Kansas facility, and when an Installer is not traveling, they will work with the DI Production Team in the office.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES/FUNCTIONSmay include but are not limited to: Works safely and enjoys working in a creative, problem-solving manufacturing environment Have an eye for quality and detail.
Self-manages while being a strong team player with a positive attitude.
Maintains strong, honest communication with DI team while traveling.
Completes work accurately and on time.
Interacts with clients occasionally.
Possesses physical dexterity to operate tools and participate in lifting signage and other architectural elements for loading trucks as well as installation of the product.
Works in manufacturing shop when not traveling.
Represents DI's Final 1%.
Attends Kick-Off and other onsite meetings as needed.
Communicates openly and frequently with Production Supervisor - Installation & Logistics and all necessary in-house team members.
Possess basic technical skills.
Ability to solve problems as they arise.
Other duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES Must meet requirements to obtain an MEC for DOT.
Must own basic tools and have proven ability to use various power tools.
Ability to pass project specific background check as needed.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Flexibility and willingness to travel with short notice.
Flexibility and willingness to work various shifts (days, nights, weekends).
Basic knowledge of reading and interpreting blueprints or shop drawings.
EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE 1-3 years of experience on an installation team and coordinating the team’s efforts with other onsite trades.
OSHA training and DOT certificate is preferred but not required.
Basic electrical knowledge and troubleshooting.
Vinyl and graphics installation experience is preferred but not required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
The employee is occasionally required to reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, climb, crouch, or crawl The employee must be able to occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds The employee must be able to stand for long periods of time Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and the ability to adjust focus Employee must be able to talk and hear WORK ENVIRONMENT Due to our onsite Fabrication process, the work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee may encounter while performing the essential functions of this job.
While performing the duties of this job, employee may be exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, moving mechanical parts, fumes or airborne particles and outside weather conditions.
