Trading Manager - Overland Park, KS
This is a full-time, exempt level position.
MAIN FUNCTION: This position will work as part of the team which is accountable for executing ADM’s Wester Region Soybean program.
This team is responsible for developing trading strategies to enhance division and company profits.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to managing the origination, logistics, basis trading and position management of soybeans.
Additionally, this position will be integrated into our western corn trading.
The position is responsible for daily communication of international market values and trends to the broader organization.
Ideal candidate would show strong interest for career opportunities in the future.

Manage risk for the business segment through trading of basis, futures, options, spreads, physical delivery mechanics, freight, and paper arbitrage of soybean grains markets.
Interact with key customer accounts and maintain ongoing and regular communications with customers to enhance relationships and customer service.
Work closely with various internal groups, both domestically and internationally, to help maximize the potential of ADM’s vast network.
Create an environment which fosters teamwork and continuous improvement.
Track progress towards the achievement of business plans and objectives, as outlined, and initiates action as required.
Prepare and submit regular and ad hoc reports to the regarding achievements, opportunities, and issues.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS: University degree in agriculture or business (i.
e.
economics, finance, accounting) supplemented with a minimum of three (3) years progressively responsible experience in the marketing/trading of commodities.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Foreign language skills are considered and asset.
Demonstrated capacity to excel within high risk, fast paced work environment.
Proven ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
Demonstrated negotiation and interpersonal skills.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of the domestic & international trade.
Ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with end-users, suppliers, and internal customers.
Computer competent, with demonstrated ability in the use of spreadsheet, database and word processing software applications within a windows based operating environment.
