What you'd be doing.

Participating in the monthly financial close process, including preparation of journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts
Analyzing financial statements to understand trends in the business and ensure accuracy of reported results
Supporting an environment of continuous improvement and helping implement automation to improve efficiency
Coordinating accounting projects and initiatives with other members of the accounting/HR team or with other departments
Assisting the Director of Accounting and Finance with valuation and due diligence process for acquisitions
Preparing purchase accounting entries
Managing integration activities for acquisitions
Assisting with preparation of financial reports to third parties
Assisting with preparation of tax workpapers for third party CPA firm
Assisting with annual 401k audits
Preparing government census reporting
Filing sales tax returns in multiple jurisdictions and researching sales tax issues as needed
Our Criteria.

Education and Experience:
3+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in public accounting
Experience in construction or manufacturing industry accounting a plus
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
Requirements, Skills and Abilities:
Must have a solid understanding of accounting principles for manufacturers, distributors, and retailers.
Must have basic sales tax knowledge.
Must have experience with general ledger functions and the month-end/year-end close procedures.
Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel.
Must have a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
Must be highly organized and able to complete tasks on a timely basis and with minimal supervision.
Must have a proven ability to maintain confidentiality.
Must be able to thrive in a fast paced environment and interface well with staff and customers.
Preferred Qualifications:
Quickbooks Online experience
Experience with ERP systems
Intermediate to Advanced Excel skills (e.
g.
pivot tables, sum if, v-lookup, etc.
)
Understanding of large-scale data mining and reporting tools (e.
g.
Power BI, SQL)
