Full-time position available with the City Planning Department, Permits Division, located at 414 E 12th St.
Salary Range: $19.
27-$29.
39/hour
Normal Work Days/Hours: Monday-Friday 8:00 a.

-5:00 p.

*Telework available 1 day per week after completion of 6 month probationary period.

Responsibilities
Responds to phone and e-mail inspection requests.
Schedules appointments in the inspection database and prepares inspection reports for field inspection staff.
Provides radio support for field staff, contacts utility companies for release of utilities upon completion of inspections.
Serves as the receptionist for permit customers and citizens visiting the permit center.
Provides information to walk-in customers and other City Departments regarding City Planning permitting procedures.
Reviews customer requests for project status and provides information regarding processes.
Qualifications
REQUIRES high school graduation and 3 years of public or private sector experience in customer service work at the level of Customer Service Representative or higher; OR an equivalent combination of education and responsible customer service experience at the level of Customer Service Representative or higher.

For positions with a salary grade of EX6 or higher that require an accredited degree, qualifying professional experience must be obtained AFTER the accredited degree is obtained.
Successful completion of a pre-employment criminal history/background check is required for all positions.

If appointed, non-residents must obtain residency inside Kansas City, Missouri's city limits within nine months.
