We’re growing rapidly and we’re seeking an experienced Patient Collections Manager to join our team.
In this role, you'll provide leadership and supervision for the patient collections team.
You'll perform a variety of tasks in support of daily operations, including but not limited to: Provides leadership, strategic oversight, and guidance for the patient accounts staff to ensure quality, timeline, and resource goals are met.
Provides guidance and participates in recruitment, talent development, talent management, and HR systems reviews and discussions for patient collectons team members Ensures facilitation of professional development, training, and certification activities for clinic front office staff Sets the tone for the team and provides leadership and guidance in the performance of patient collections related functions and staff management Develops effective relationships within the organization and maintains communication with physicians and others to continually improve patient experience Ensures a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions Assists with developing and implementing patient collections standard operating procedures (SOP’s) Oversees the daily operations of the patient collections team to ensure achievement of departmental objectives Monitors work queues/daily assignments ensuring that work is moving efficiently, and queues are being worked according to need of each individual area, re-directing staff focus of work queue priority when necessary Leads the team as a subject matter expert in resolving issues per established departmental policy, which may include taking payments, setting up payment plans, adding or correcting insurance or demographic information entered into the system, performing insurance follow up inquiries and resolving patient concerns.
Acts as a resource supporting day to day operations which includes but are not limited to responding to escalations, advising on how to de-escalate, and working closely with other Patient Financial Services areas to resolve patient issues.
Serves as a change management and primary user for company systems that are implemented Assists with Human Resource management functions including interviewing, selection, coaching, feedback, and policy/procedure development and implementation Assist in updating and maintaining personnel files through completion of competencies, performance evaluations, coaching, corrective action documents and orientation checklists to ensure appropriate competencies of team members Ensures employee competency and maintains written documentation of all counseling sessions as needed Perform all other assignments as requested by the Vice President, Surgical Staffing Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops and participating in professional societies.
Maintains a cooperative relationship among health care teams by communicating information and participating in team problem-solving methods.
Maintain knowledge of and comply with established policies and procedures.
Participates in department meetings as required Promotes the mission, vision and values of the organization.
Has read and understands HIPAA regulations and the company’s HIPAA Privacy Policy and maintains the strictest confidentiality at all times.
Complies with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook.
Performs other job-related duties as assigned/necessary.
Qualified candidates must possess a High Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 2 years of substantially similar work experience including prior experience and/or training in supervising and managing others, plus a clean background check.
Other qualifications include: Demonstrates proficient knowledge and ability to train others in patient accounting functions Demonstrates proven verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Proven track record in reliability and dependability Demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize and manage multiple tasks Demonstrates effective problem solving and conflict resolution skills to foster effective work relationships with providers, patients, and team members.
Demonstrates friendly, personal, and timely customer service skills Demonstrated ability to function independently without supervision while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail in an ever changing environment.
Proven track record in effectively planning, organizing and attention to detail Ability to maintain a positive, courteous demeanor with all patients and colleagues Demonstrates proficiency using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and email (Outlook or Gmail) Demonstrates understanding of and experience using an electronic medical record (EMR) systems Demonstrated ability to effectively use general office equipment including phones, fax machines, copiers and other similar office technology on a regular basis Demonstrated ability Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality of all internal and external communications to speak, read, write and understand English Understanding of and ability to comply with all regulatory requirements including OSHA, HIPAA, Ascentist Policies and Procedures and Ascentist Employee Handbook Desirable Qualifications include experience working in a clinical office environment and/or ability to speak and understand other languages.
